KLUNIX 1.0 Foundation was officially released on July 26, 2026.
KLUNIX is a custom 64-bit Debian-based Linux operating system created to provide a practical, familiar, and capable desktop experience. Version 1.0 uses the Cinnamon desktop and includes software for everyday computing, education, programming, electronics, astronomy, graphics, office work, and multimedia.
KLUNIX 1.0 Foundation includes Firefox ESR, LibreOffice, VLC, GIMP, Inkscape, Audacity, VSCodium, Geany, KiCad, Stellarium, BibleTime, Flatpak support, and many additional applications and utilities.
It also includes three original KLUNIX programs:
• Planet60 astronomy software
• Ohm’s Law Calculator
• Resistor Color Calculator
The downloadable release includes the KLUNIX installation ISO, its official SHA-256 checksum, release notes, system requirements, installation instructions, known issues, licensing information, and a complete software list.
Before publication, the final ISO was tested as both a live operating system and a full installation inside a clean virtual machine. The publicly hosted ISO was also downloaded again, installed, tested, and verified against the official SHA-256 checksum.
KLUNIX 1.0 Foundation is available now through the TKK Technology Downloads page.

This release represents the foundation upon which future KLUNIX versions will be built. I am grateful to God for the strength, patience, and opportunity to bring this project from an idea to a completed public release.
